Gauhati University B.ED Entrance 2025

Gauhati University has released an official notification regarding the admission of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) for the session 2025-27. As per the official notification, GU will conduct a common entrance test called GUBEDCET to select the meritorious students. Students who are eligible as per the notification and willing to get admission in B.Ed must submit their application form online mode to participate in the entrance test.

Eligibility Criteria of GU B.Ed. Admission


A candidate may be allowed to appear in the GUBEDCET-2025 provided that he/she has passed the B.A / B.Sc. / B.Com. or MA/ MSc/M.Com or equivalent degree programme form a recognised Board/University with at least 50% marks (or 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD).

Eligibility criteria
  • Candidates must have passed BA/BSc/B.Com or MA/MSc/M.Com or an equivalent degree program from a recognized Board/University.
  • A minimum of 50% marks is required (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).
  • Eligibility criteria will be verified at the time of admission. 
Entrance exam (GUBEDCET-2025) details
The GUBEDCET-2025 is an offline, OMR-based entrance test consisting of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). The total marks for the test are 400, and candidates will have 2 hours to complete it. The exam will be in English.
The marking scheme is 4 marks for each correct answer and a deduction of 1 mark for each incorrect answer, with no penalty for unattempted questions. The syllabus covers General English, General Knowledge, Test of Reasoning and Numerical Ability, Current Indian Education (Issues and Policies), and Ethics and Teaching Aptitude. The cut-off marks are 80 for the unreserved category and 60 for the reserved category. Candidates can select up to three test centers when applying online.
Counselling process
Candidates on the merit list will proceed to counseling. Seat allocation is determined by college preference, merit, and seat availability. To secure their seat, candidates must visit the college and pay the admission fee. 
Documents required
Key documents for admission include mark sheets and passing certificates from Class 12 and 10, transfer certificate, birth certificate, and residence certificate. Category and EWS certificates are required if applicable. Proof of nationality such as an Aadhar card or passport is also needed.

Test Centres for GUBEDCET-2025

Candidates will be able to appear in any one of the following GUBEDCET-2021 Centres and the same shall have to be indicated while filling up the online form. A candidate has to select any three examination Centres. A candidate will be assigned in any one of the following Centres based on the feasibility of a particular Centre.(Guwahati, Nagaon, Nalbari, Barpeta, Jorhat, Dhubri, Rangia, Morigaon, Goalpara,   Tezpur, Mangaldai, Pathsala).
